Our church's choir did a special Christmas service this morning, and it was really nice. Dad was out of town, so Mom, Caleb, and I did lunch at Hunan Garden, and we ate good Dim Sum. In the evening I went with Hannah to Memorial Presbyterian's choral Christmas service. It was really cool.

Youth rehearsal was diverted to Kirkwood High today due to holiday concerts at Powell Hall. I had stopped by Olivette to pick up my neglected radio-controlled car, charge up the battery, and play with it during break. Ah, I forget how fun those things are. We had a stroll tonight at the MAC, and everything eventually kinda worked out. Mrs. P flew in from a vacation late in the afternoon, but she made it on time, though we did have to set up sound beforehand. It was a long stroll too, as they had requested an ensemble during cocktail hour. They also purchased 100 CDs from us to give to the guests beforehand. After the stroll a bunch of us went to Il Vicino to get food, and then to Chez Darlin' to hang out.

I went to see Monsters, Inc. again with Beth and Amie. They played some outtakes this time, and it was good stuff! "Put that thing back where it came from or help me!" Afterwards we hung out at Amie's house, and then around midnight I went back to campus and joined my roommate at a Beta frat party. It was actually a well-run party, and the first time I'd been to small-group housing here. It's nice! It's so not the typical fraternity housing situation, it's really nice and new and clean and everything, better than Danforth in fact.

So our final program due in CS101 was a game called Orbit, and it's kinda like PacMan. I'm going to customize mine a little more and then see if I can't figure out how to make a Java applet that's runnable from a web browser.

It's the last day of classes for the Fall 2001 semester here at Wash U. Final exams are next week, wow. Half a year has rolled by already!

So I was getting a little tired of what music I had laying around to listen to, so I popped in a CD of MP3s that I burned 2 years ago. Apparantly, I had dumped a bunch of songs I didn't like anymore onto it, and now I find that I like most of the songs! I guess the stuff that's being released now is just no good.

I went to see Itzhak Perlman at Powell Hall with Amie today. He played and conducted Beethoven's first two Romances, and then turned around and conducted the 7th and 8th symphonies! The 7th symphony was soooo awesome! I love that piece.
