Oh man. I forgot Youth rehearsal today was at the Music School, and I went all the way down to Powell Hall, and had to come back to just 2 blocks from Wash U for where the actual rehearsal was. Ah! Owell.
We had a nice small stroll tonight at the Westwood Country Club. Afterwards, we all went to Eric's house and played Pictionary, which was loads of fun.

So I'm up for the state safety and emissions test on my Cavalier in November, and I'm taking advantage of no classes today to get that done. The new emissions test here, wow! They put all cars on a dyno, and watching that was absolutely cool.

After Campus Crusade tonight, we all tried to go to IHOP again, but they were closing early to get their carpets cleaned! Ah! We had a bigger group this time too, since tomorrow is Fall Break, so there's no homework crisis excuse or anything. But we defaulted to Denny's as usual, so that was good.

Before rehearsal, Joe and I ate up a big chunk of the leftover Chinese food from Saturday night. The pineapple in the shrimp has totally fermented, making the shrimp quite alcoholic. Someone actually packed some of the rice too, but it wasn't worth it, cause it wasn't that great to begin with, and was totally hard and unedible today.
At Wash U Symphony rehearsal, We looked through the music for our next concert. Unfornunately, we don't even know 2 of the piano concertos we're accompanying until after it happens on October 20th, which doesn't leave very much time to prepare for it before the concert on November 11th. Owell, I think we'll manage. But otherwise, we're playing stuff from American composers, like Samuel Barber's Serenade for Strings, Op. 1. Obviously, it was Barber's first work, so it's nothing as good as the Adagio for Strings. But then there's Hanson's Symphony No. 2, the Romantic. That piece is awesome! I think it's one of the few pieces composed in the 20th century that I like so much.
There was this one bass that I kept seeing in our orchestra that had this metal thing up near the scroll, and I finally discovered what that was! It's an E-string adjuster! So that way, the bass player doesn't have to tune down E when the piece calls for it, they just sliiide the adjuster. And the one that this bassist had was a "prototype" too, not even on the market. That's neat!

Doh! Forgot I had a Macro problem set I needed to turn in today too. Thankfully, there's an extension until tomorrow. The midterm exam turned out to be very straightforward, so that's good.

Wow, I actually had time to day to practice violin a little. I wish I can just take off school for a couple weeks and practice the Tchaik. It's actually a lot of fun to practice! Doh! Forgot I have a CS midterm tomorrow. Maybe I should study.

Hmmm, our Psychology Seminar discussion topic this week is about spanking children. That ought to be an interesting discussion Tuesday.
