It was rise and shine early for the ARML contest, as usual. However, this year it was pretty abnormally cool, weather wise. A very good change. Another good change is the location of the target and relay rounds: the new auditorium. Being in the balcony also gave us some entertainment when lauching the home-made spring-loaded pen rockets out of the free ARML pens. We must have grabbed 40 of those things from the desk. Tutoring people in math is such a great thing for me. I tutored Susan on Logarithms Wednesday night, and I had a feeling I was going to use it this weekend. (I always got so mad when I would go to ARML, see a log problem, and not remember how to do it cause I don't use logs in daily life) Without the extra "practice" I got Wednesday, I would have been unable to do one of the two relays today, one of the target and team I think. So that felt really good. I was also happy with my performance on #6 of the Target Round, which looked kinda hard, but with the proper insight, I was able to kinda guess the answer is an infinite series summing to 2, which the answer ended up being. Not many people got it right, and it felt good to be able to use show some insight my senior year, lol.
Overall, this ARML, after being in ARML since 8th grade, has been quite a blast. A really nice way to end it for me, really. I went up there, expecting to have a nice conclusion, and it turns out now that I realize I'm going to miss it so much... being a senior has become quite emotional these days.
