I went to participate in a ARML power question today. It was a really cool and easy question that our team tackled nicely.
Movie - 13:36 - After leaving the Florrisant Valley Community College, where this contest was held, I head south on I170 from I270. This is where I170 ends (or starts, depending how you look at it).
Movie - 13:38 - I pass through the nice interchange between I170 and I70. It's a stack.
Movie - It takes more than 15 seconds to pass through.
Picture - Argh, my winshield is dirty. Especially where the camera is mounted. Owell, you can kidna see the overhead gantry, Nabil. I also like the big power lines on the left. Ugh, those tall adverts do look kinda ugly, don't they?
Picture - There, washed my winshield. Ok, didn't get close enough to that gantry. Owell. I love how the camera catches the air scoop on the car.
Picture - There we go. I Guess it's also good that I took all these at high res too. You've got Schnucks on the left there too.
Picture - There we go, a better shot of that type of signage. Notice the huge car park on the left. It belongs to Enterprise rent-a-car.
Movie - I go all the way to the beginning of I170 (or the end). The other end. Woah, I just drove the entire length of the highway. Well, I head west on I64 and towards school.
Movie - Still going east on I64. Dang, enough traffic going eastbound this afternoon?
At school, I set up some decorations for tonight's Sadie Hawkins dance. Since our DJ doesn't have any lights, we took lights and strung them around the room, freely suspended. It looks really cool. Well, the DJ makes up for his lack of lights with his 4 12" subs and a couple tube amps. Tonight's dance ought to be fun.
Movie - I head home. I head east on MO340, with the camera pointed at the light commercial on the south side.
Movie - There's Olivette Lanes, Ponderosa, and some apartments.
The dance was really fun. The party really didn't get going until like 2130, people just stood around for half the time. Owell, someone discovered the centre-pieces were made of toilet paper rolls early in the night, so there's this big mess of toilet paper on the floor. Owell. The lights we did turned out pretty neat.

I went to the TEAMS Engineering competition today. I was on our school's Junior Varsity team with the other 6 Juniors and a sophomore. We got 3rd in the area in the JV division. The Varsity team, composed of seniors, placed 1st in their division and 2nd overall in the area. The competition was really really fun. I've never done anything like it.
Movie - I am behind Susan heading out from school going north on Warson Road.
Picture - Someone went totally overboard on the low-rider.

Picture - 1557 - I head north on Warson Road from school. Argh! I spot a nice sports car, and I try to take a video, and I screwed up, and took a photo instead. Argh! It was a Ferrari 512TR!
Movie - I head west on MO340, and approach the intersection with Indian Meadows.

Picture - 1623 - Here's a church sitting on the corner of MO100 and Brentwood Blvd.
Picture - 1624 - MO100 is also Manchester Road.
Movie - 1627 - I turn right onto Eager Road from Brentwood Blvd., and head for the I170 interchange.
Picture - This is the intersection of I170, I64, and Eager Road. I64 is the overpass above, and I170 runs under it.
Movie - I turn left onto I170, and you can see I64 running heavily on the bridge above.
Movie - I keep on heading north on I170, approaching the Forest Park Parkway exit. I pass up a green mile marker sign on my left. It's mile 1.
Movie - Ran out of disk space. New disk. Still going north on I170. Approaching the Ladue Road, SR AB now.
Movie - Now I approach the Delmar Blvd. exit.
Movie - Time to start moving to the right and exit on MO340.
Picture - This is on the offramp from I170 onto MO340.
Picture - 1648 - Time to get a car wash. Long line. Owell, I've seen worse.
Movie - 1655 - A Jaguar in front of me gets his car washed. This is the presoak.
Movie - This is the rinse cycle.
Picture - Touchfree Wash Instructions
Picture - This is for the stupid people.
Movie - 1701 - My turn finally. This is the rinse stage.
Movie - Now it waxes the car.
Movie - The car shudders as it gets dried.
Picture - Remind me to wear a raincoat the next time I wash my car.
Picture - Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T. Nice car. Time to head east on MO340 and head home.
Movie - I turn into my street. Look at all those potholes. Now that they aren't developing this place, maybe they ought to get around to fixing them.
Picture - Now my car is all nice and clean.

I went with the Video Club today to the Charter Cable distribution centre. It was really really cool! I had no idea that they did this stuff right next to my house! The had the coolest control room, and tons and tons of rack mounted systems! Woah! They had a 200GB hard drive that they kept commercials on, for smooth playback and stuff. Woah! They had UPS for the entire building. The battery for that was huge. The coolest part was where they had the equipment for cable-internet services. It was basically an ISP. They had an OC-48 connection. Good grief. Their feed was also a bundle of 196Mbps fiber cables. A bundle. That's like 50. They literally have unlimited bandwidth. And they had some sweet Compaq rack-mounted systems. They had a couple Sun servers running Linux that ran DNS. What's coolest is their array of actual dialup servers. They have dialup servers for those who subscribe to only uni-directional cable internet. It was awesome. In the size of a book, they crammed 24 56k modems, 2 Pentium II processors, 1 GB of RAM, and a couple 4 GB hard drives. They had this entire rack of them, like, 30 of them. Amazing. I want one for my car. The guy said it ran on 12 volts too!
Oh, and there was also a Cisco router. It was green. It was like this gigantic box, 3 feet tall. They said they are getting a new router that will be 6 feet tall. Woah. He says it's the largest router ever made.
Another interesting thing: They also do graphics and such for the TV Guide channels, and I found out that the person that does it uses Paint Shop Pro. Hehehe, she's no graphic artist, though, like, she didn't know how to use layers or draw in vectors. Owell.
Woah, I found a nice collection of police videos. Some of them are really cool chases.

I got a letter a while ago from the International Bands of America saying that I was invited to go play on their tour to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Being $3225, though, it's a little pricey. I mean, it's not like Strolling Strings, where I got $1000 from fund raising and such through the year. It sounds like great fun, but without fundraising, it can be quite a stretch.
